Betty Pomarede grew up in Viola, Tennessee, the smallest town in the state. She graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia with a degree in history and education. She went on to take a color theory class with a student of Joseph Albers, in New Haven, Connecticut. Then she studied at The School of The Museum of Fine arts in Boston, Massachusetts.
Ms. Pomarede had solo exhibitions in two Washington, DC galleries, Gallery A on R Street and The Foundry Gallery, and at several other commercial locations in the Washington, DC area.
